HIST 335: American History Through Music

A collection of full-text periodicals depicting American musical life from 1838 to the early 1900s through local and international news, reviews, editorials, sheet music, and advertisements. Over 200,000 pages of material will be available for research on the Alexander Street multimedia platform.

An archival collection of 15 major magazines (including the Newsweek archive) including current events, international relations, and public policy. Date coverage varies and includes 1918-2015.

Contains news, articles, and book reviews about music, musicians, and the music industry from more than 875 periodicals. Current coverage with varying date coverage for backfiles.
