Library of Things collections are a growing trend in libraries around the world and consist of non-traditional items that patrons can borrow for free with a library card. These collections are designed to provide access to items that may not be easily affordable or practical for individuals to own. They also offer patrons the opportunity to obtain an item for a one-time project or acquire the necessary materials to explore a new hobby.
Helmke Library is excited to share that we are creating a Library of Things collection for the PFW Community. Items in this collection will be available for check out in Fall 2023. Our collection will feature musical instruments, kitchenware, outdoor supplies, tools, exercise equipment, and arts and crafts materials for a short borrowing period.
The library is building our new collection entirely through donations from the community, and we are excited to invite you to participate! We encourage all community members to review the Donation Requests page to see the items we are currently collecting and instructions for donating. By donating to our Library of Things, you will be supporting resource accessibility for our students, while helping them explore new hobbies, complete personal projects, and enjoy their time at PFW.
