The Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional organization which supports several types of engineers, publishes content on engineering topics, and establishes standards for many industries.
IEEE Citation is a little different from other citation styles. Here's a few things to remember when formatting your citation using this style.
Refer to each source with a number in brackets and inside the punctuation.
Number your sources as they are cited in your paper.
Examples
Terminology for algorithms was first standardized in 1990 [1].
This theory was tested repeatedly and found to have flaws in its implementation [4].
Einstein [3] stated that...
Be thorough, but leave out any information you do not have when formatting your reference list.
Anytime you have a sources you access through the web, add as much of the following information as you can to the end of your citation: date accessed, doi (Digital Object Identifier), the type of medium, and available at URL.
