The library's catalog will help you find print sources such as art books and exhibition catalogs or media like DVDs.
The major portion of art books will be located on the 3rd floor. Look for call numbers starting with N. This includes a special collection of oversized art books which are shelved separately along the wall.
Some art books are in the library's Special Collections or Secure area. These must be requested at the 1st floor Service Desk. These usually cannot be checked out but exceptions can be made by contacting the Arts librarian.
Photography books may be found alongside the art books but many of them will be located on the 4th floor under call numbers starting with TR.
If Helmke Library doesn't have what you need, you can search libraries from around the world in WorldCat and then use Document Delivery to request items.
