Introduction

The primary goal of Document Delivery Services (DDS) is to obtain materials not owned by the library, but needed to fulfill the research needs of Purdue University Fort Wayne's faculty, students, and staff. DDS is a premier service of the library. It employs "best practices" to ensure the highest quality service to all users. The most recent Association of Research Libraries study (2002) of Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery services estimates the cost of this service at $30.00 per item. This represents a significant contribution by the library to the research endeavors at Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Purdue University Fort Wayne's Document Delivery Services policies are governed by the American Library Association's Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States and by the policies of state and local cooperatives of which Purdue University Fort Wayne is a part. In addition, Document Delivery Services complies fully with provisions of the U.S. Copyright Law and its amendments in the processing of its requests.
