Plays in Helmke Library

Each year, the library adds new plays and musicals to the collection.  The librarian reviews the nominees and winners from major “best play,” “best musical,” or “best playwriting” awards, including:

  •  Antoinette Perry (Tony) Award
  • Drama Desk Award
  • Drama League of America Award
  • Lucille Lortel Award
  • New York Drama Critics Circle Award
  • Outer Critics Circle Award
  • Pulitzer Prize for Drama
  • Susan Smith Blackburn Prize
  • Village Voice Obie Award
  • Yale Drama Series

Print copies of the plays, and books, scores or vocal selections, and CDs for musicals, are purchased when available.

The library will also purchase scripts and other materials for productions done by the Department of Theatre on a case-by-case basis.

You can look for these plays and others by searching for the title and/or author in the catalog.
